What should we do if the centrifugal pump is evacuated?

In the practical use of centrifugal pumps, there are always a variety of situations. One of the many reasons for the problems of centrifugal pumps when pumping always makes everyone feel headache. What if the centrifugal pump is evacuated?

In the future, perhaps in the process of pumping:

1. The vibration of the pump body is large, and the dynamic and static rings of the mechanical seal will constantly collide intermittently, leading to leakage. In severe cases, the mechanical seal structure will fail;

2. The compression of the dynamic ring of the mechanical seal is the sum of the medium pressure and the pre tightening force of the spring. When it is evacuated, the medium pressure will disappear, the contact pressure of the dynamic ring will decrease, and the seal will fail;

3. After the pump is evacuated, the mechanical seal dynamic ring end face adopting the self flushing scheme (i.e. flushing with the pumped medium) loses its cooling and lubrication, and the mechanical seal fails due to dry friction.

2Reasons for evacuation

1. Air leakage occurs at the inlet of centrifugal pump.

2. The inlet of the centrifugal pump is blocked.

3. The pressure at the inlet of the centrifugal pump is not good.

4. The medium temperature at the inlet of the centrifugal pump is too high, and the saturated steam is too large.

5. The inlet valve of the centrifugal pump is not opened or the valve element falls off.

6. The outlet opening of centrifugal pump is too large (small).

7. The seal oil of centrifugal pump contains water.

8. The liquid level in the centrifugal pump tower or container is low, or there is no liquid level.

9. The impeller or inner wear ring of centrifugal pump is severely worn.

10. The centrifugal pump motor rotates.

3Handling method corresponding to evacuation

1. If the inlet leaks, stop the pump to check the leaking inlet pipeline and flange of the centrifugal pump.

2. If the inlet is blocked, stop the pump to check the leakage inlet pipeline and impeller of the centrifugal pump, and conduct maintenance after purging.

3. If the inlet pressure is not good, the liquid level back pressure shall be increased.

4. If the inlet medium temperature is too high, the medium temperature shall be reduced and the steam in the centrifugal pump shall be vented.

5. If the inlet valve is not opened or the valve core is dropped, the valve shall be opened or the pump shall be replaced for maintenance.

6. If the outlet opening is too large (small), adjust the opening of each valve appropriately.

7. If the oil seal contains water, the oil seal tank shall be dehydrated.

8. If the liquid level in the tower or container is low, the outlet valve of the centrifugal pump shall be temporarily turned down or the pump shall be stopped for treatment, and it shall recover after the liquid level rises.

9. If the impeller or inner wear ring is worn, it should be replaced.

10. If the motor rotates, adjust the steering in time.
